We all know about the United States’ deep commercial ties with China in this day and age, but has this been the case since America’s inception? Danny and Derek are joined by Stuart Rollo, postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for International Security Studies at the University of Sydney, for a discussion of his book
Great episode. I'm always ready for another China episode. On the question of democratization, I would say it's already happened. Local leaders are directly elected and corporate law was recently updated to expand worker codetermination to a lot more companies. China is obviously not at the end stage of socialist democracy but they are further on the path than is appreciated here in the west

Excellent interview. Professor Rollo is correct. I've lived in China for many years and can vouch for what he says. I've seen it with my own eyes.
